Africa

Lauren for the most parts knows her Continents.  This morning on the way to school she drew this and told me it was Africa.

The little things

Sometimes it is the little things in life that mean the absolute most.  And with my sweet husband this is the case because all of the little things that he does for me lets me know that he thinks of me often and loves me with all of his heart.  This weekend while we were visiting Granny and Papa we went to look for old Mason jars that I wanted at Granny Cobb's house. While we were there we stumbled upon this red glass vase.  I loved it and it ended up coming home with us.  It was a bit dirty but I knew it would be as good as new when it was cleaned up.
Last night we all had somewhere to be and me and Lauren left before Mitch and got home before Mitch.  When me and Lauren walked in this is what I saw....
My Shiny red vase was cleaned and sitting on the counter! I was so excited to see it and most of all thankful for a sweet husband who thinks of me often and for those "little things" that mean so much!

Obsessed

Recently Lauren has become sort of obsessed with spelling words.  Which I think is a good thing, and at the same time can be pretty comical!  When she was getting Mitch's Valentine card ready for him she wrote "I love you stop love".  When she came to show me she was so excited and told me it said, "I love you. Stop your love".  I am not certain where STOP came into play for valentine's but she done it all by herself and Mitch loved it!
So, Sunday we were driving home from church and she had Mitch's keys in the back with her.  As she was looking at them she asked, " what does L O W E S" spell.  We responded, "Lowe's".  She said, "we have the key to Lowe's?".  She thought that was the coolest thing that we had the key to Lowe's until we explained that Lowe's just made the key for us!

Celebrating Valentine's Day!

Lauren begged to open her Valentine gift early so we let her Monday night.

Tuesday her BFF came home with us so the girls had fun baking and decorating cupcakes.

That evening me, Mitch and Lauren had a nice little dinner of homemade lasagna, salad, and of course those pretty little cupcakes for dessert!  What better way to celebrate the day of love than spending it with the two people who have my whole heart!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Passing time

Since Lauren and I do not care much for Football we passed the time by making jewelry while the Superbowl was on!
She made her BFF Chloe a bracelet. She was concentrating so hard!

Roasting Marshmallows

This past weekend was such nice weather Mitch and Lauren had some fun roasting marshmallows.  Lauren would barely let hers get warm and she was ready to eat it.  If any brown was on it she gave it to her daddy!
Helping Mitch put the limbs in to start the fire

One happy little girl with her "almost warm" marshmallow!

Appointments

I generally take Lauren to a Pediatric dentist.  This is not and has never been a pleasant experience at all.  I have to sit in the chair and literally hold her down with the help of someone else while they clean her teeth.  I recently decided to change dentists myself and thought this might be the opportunity to give Lauren a fresh start somewhere without all of the bad memories.  I tried to prep her for the situation but in the beginning it did not help much. When we arrived I kept her occupied while we waited by playing games on her leap pad with her. When the hygienist came out to get us the tears started rolling and Lauren started clasping and rubbing her little hands together.  The fear was very apparent on her face as the hygienist said, " Normally we show you around the office but I can see she is not liking this so I will just tell you a little about it.". We made our way to the room and Lauren sat in the chair while I went to have my xrays done.  They started some videos for her to watch and before I knew it her little nerves were calmed.  I guess the little prayer request that I sent to Mitch worked.  Lauren was suppose to get her teeth cleaned to but the sweet hygienist talked her into just letting her count her teeth this time if she "pinkie promised" to come back and let her brush them.  When we left Lauren said, "mama that wasn't so bad".  So we have appointment to go back next week to get them cleaned.  The Next day in the mail I received a little note from the hygienist telling me to just keep encouraging Lauren and she "pinkie promised" she would be able to clean her teeth!

"I love so much"

Lauren: " Mama, I love you so much that I would buy you from the store and put you on a big cash register and pay for you!"
